Eveline was attracted to the water since she was a child. She grew up on the border of a Swiss Lake and joined a local swimming club where she got the chance of swimming at every opportunity and completing a Freediving course. On h er last lesson Eveline’s Instructor brought along a set of Scuba and from that moment on, Scuba Diving in any form became her passion.
In 1984 she completed her PADI Open Water Diver and the PADI Advanced Open Water along with several Specialty Courses. Holidays and any spare time were now spent diving.
Eveline progressed through to Divemaster in 1986 and decided to make her hobby a profession by going to work to the Maldives Island where she became in 1987 a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. After 4 years in the Maldives she went back to Switzerland to manage one of the biggest diving schools for several years.
Whilst travailing and diving around the world since Eveline has achieved a broad diving experience whilst logging over 4500 dives, these were conducted in Mountain Lakes, Ice diving in Austria and Switzerland, Cave diving in Mexico and Florida, Wreck and Deep diving in France, Caribbean Sea, Thailand, the Philippines and now in Cyprus.
Besides training Scuba Instructors she has a big passion for wreck and deep diving and for this reason got involved in Technical diving in 1998. She was a member of the deep diving team in the Expedition called Triade in South of France and was the first to dive on the Natal Wreck at 125m, the submarine Protée at 129m and several other deep ship wrecks they discovered during this expedition with her husband, the world renowned Cedric Verdier.
Her dives on these wrecks were completed using a Closed Circuit Rebre ather and due to these highly acknowledged dives together with other outstanding achievement within the diving industry Eveline invited to become a Member into the prestigious Woman Divers Hall of Fame in 2001. A feat offered to very few indeed!
Eveline is also a DSAT and a TDI Instructor Trainer and with her personal experience in the Technical Diving World, she is the perfect person to start your Technical Diving Career whether it is with Nitrox, Tr imix or Closed Circuit Rebreather Diving.
As security is one of the major concerns in diving, Eveline is teaching all levels of DAN Courses from Provider to Instructor Level. She was the Regional Manager for DAN in France for two years.
Nowadays whenever Eveline gets the chance to go diving for pleasure, she enjoys diving with her Closed Circuit Rebreather observing the marine animals close up or discovering yet another ship wreck.
For Eveline, each dive is still a new discovery of the Underwater World. Every dive is different and there are endless possibilities to enjoy diving and meeting new friends under water and on the surface.
After 20 years of an illustrious diving career, every dive is a still challenge and as Eveline says:
“Believe it or not, diving changed my life and will change yours as well. Just do it!”
